We’ve launched a new website at http://library.owu.edu.
Earlier this year, we conducted a survey of students, faculty, and staff to better understand the kinds of content and services that are most important to our campus community. We also conducted interviews with students from a variety of years and majors to learn how they perceived the library’s website, how they used it, and how the site could be improved. The design of the new site has been heavily informed by this feedback.
One of the biggest changes you’ll find is the introduction of an “All” search box which allows users to search CONSORT, the majority of the libraries’ research databases, and several unique local collections from one place using the Summon discovery service. CONSORT is still accessible directly from the Books & Media search box.
As in most website makeovers, there are bound to be those who experience the “Who moved my cheese?!” moments when something isn’t in the same place it’s always been. We’ve done our best to ensure that the most used and most important services are easy to find, and we welcome your continued suggestions and feedback on how the new site can be more useful, usable, and easier to navigate.
Again, we encourage you to explore the new site and send any comments, questions, or suggestions to Ben Daigle, Discovery Services Librarian, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
