China: Culture and Society is a rich, unique collection which benefits OWU faculty and students conducting research on Chinese history, culture, religion, art, literature, and everyday life.
This one-of-a-kind digital collection provides access to extremely rare pamphlets from the Charles W. Wason Collection on East Asia, which is housed in the Cornell University Library. Mostly in English and spanning the years 1750 to 1929, it covers such topics as foreign presence in China, foreign relations, missionaries and Christianity, rebellion and revolution, language and writing, and art and artifacts.
Addresses and speeches, annual reports, catalogs, essays, guides and manuals, lecture notes, letters, minutes of meetings, and magazine articles are available. Read more about the nature and scope of the collection.
